As the 2007-2008 school year comes to a close, I can't help but reflect on all my students accomplished and all that I have gained as a second year teacher. During my tenure at Anacostia SHS, I have had the opportunity to work with some amazing young people, who inspired me day-in and day-out. As their instructor, I chose which readings, writing assignments and projects were to be completed; I assigned homework tasks and presentations. And, most importantly, I never wavered.
While I wish I would have updated this site more often, I am going to try, over the course of the next few weeks, to give an overview of all you can accomplish with children in the realm of literacy, whether they are "struggling readers" or not.
